The History of Amisfield Estate
11am – 12.30pm Sun 4 September.
An informative walk starting at Amisfield Walled Garden with Kate Rycroft discussing the history of the Amisfield Estate. Amisfield House, designed by architect Isaac Ware was described in The Buildings of Scotland as "the most important building of the orthodox Palladian school in Scotland." John Henderson built the walled garden in 1783 but today all that remains of the Amisfield Estate is the summer house, walled garden, ice house, chapel, and gates.
