Duo Lensky

The Duo Lensky, comprising award-winning musicians Feargus Hetherington (violin) and Alexa Beattie (viola) will play together for the first time in many years in a spellbinding recital at the gallery. Feargus is based in Glasgow and Alexa hails from North Berwick but resides in Munich. Feargus has recently been awarded funding by Creative Scotland to work with the world famous conductor and violinist Joseph Svenson.


Feargus studied at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and at The Cleveland Institute of Music, Ohio. Currently based in Glasgow, he performs as soloist and chamber musician throughout Scotland and abroad and is Associate Teacher of Violin and Chamber Music at the University of St Andrews. His new CD of Classical Scottish Music, A Highland Ballad, will be launched on Thursday, 29th November at the Scottish Music Centre, The City Halls Glasgow .


Alexa studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London and holds the prestigious Artist's Certificate in Chamber Music from  San Francisco Conservatory. Currently based in Munich where she plays in a number of orchestras and teaches.
